In fact, one rarely sees Patroklos as an individual. Achilles is with great difficulty persuaded to refrain from the battle till the troops have refreshed themselves, by the advice of Ulysses. But when Achilles' friend Patroclus died, killed by Hector, Achilles went mad and determined to get revenge, which meant going to war. He was a battle-hardened warrior, and, like Achilles, had a reputation for andreia. The two legends are mentioned to be the Greek king, Agamemnon, and the great soldier as well as Greek prince, Achilles. Agamemnon, king of Mycenae and commander-in-chief of the Achaean army, resembles Achilles in some respects. The relationship between Achilles and Agamemnon is consistently rocky throughout the film. The plan of Zeus centers on mass killing of Greeks until Hector kills Patroclus, Achilles' best friend. In twenty-first-century adaptations of the story of the Trojan War, Achilles and Patroklos are often portrayed as gay lovers. It is because Zeus flew him into a rage; "Zeus and Fate and the Fury…they are the ones who drove that savage madness in my heart" (491). Achilles is considered to be the central character of Homer's Iliad. Like most Homeric characters, Achilles does not develop significantly over the course of the epic. Achilles and Agamemnon dislike each other because Achilles feels Agamemnon takes advantage of him (Agamemnon takes credit for Achilles gaining the Temple of Apollo) as well as thinking he is unfit to be a King. How would you characterize the relationship between Achilles and Agamemnon? During the Trojan War, in his wrath over the death . Achilles' earlier speech had characterized Agamemnon through his address as " [the] greatest lover of things of all men" (φιλοκτεανώτατε πάντων, 1.122).
