Rapid antigen testing kits on the other hand, can be bought over-the-counter at pharmacies for anything between $15 and $30. However, while they may deliver a faster result and beat lining up for a PCR swab, rapid antigen tests are "less sensitive than a PCR test because there is no amplification process". Rapid COVID-19 tests, on the other hand, sacrifice a degree of accuracy for speed and simplicity. Rapid antigen tests detect COVID-19 when people have a higher amount of .
